Job description

Applications are invited for the role of Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the Emergency Department at Hull Royal Infirmary. We are keen to hear from forward‑thinking and experienced practitioners with a desire to provide high quality patient care. The training programme comprises undertaking the MSc Advanced Practice at the University of Hull (inclusive of the Independent and Supplementary Prescribing module) and completion of a work‑based portfolio of practice that supports work across all pillars of advanced practice. You will be afforded weekly non‑clinical time to allow portfolio creation and will benefit from attending bespoke weekly trainee ACP teaching within the department. You will be allocated a consultant supervisor for the duration of your training and linked with a qualified ACP to provide additional support. You will experience training across all areas of the Emergency Department, including both adult and paediatric environments, and will be supported to spend time in specialty areas outside the Emergency Department to enhance your knowledge. Upon successful completion of the training you will be awarded a Band 8a position, joining the qualified ACP rota and working across all areas of the department. Working hours will cover 24/7 rotations to include early, late and night shifts 7 days a week. Working patterns during training are predominantly within the hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm to ensure you gain relevant clinical experience and receive adequate and appropriate supervision with a view to upholding patient safety. Some out‑of‑hours work will be expected as training progresses to ensure exposure to a 24/7 working pattern. This is a full‑time (37.5 hrs) training post with a duration of 3 years. Successful applicants with prior relevant experience or academic modules may have a bespoke training pathway created. Any job offer is subject to successful application to the academic programme, therefore please ensure you meet the academic entry criteria. Face‑to‑face interviews will be held Thursday 4 June 2026 at the University of Hull. This date cannot be changed and interviews cannot be undertaken virtually. Please ensure you are able to attend before applying. We welcome applications from candidates who require Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to work in the UK, and these will be considered alongside all other applications in line with our commitment to equality and inclusion.#J-18808-Ljbffr
