Procurement Manager - fixed term contract - immediate start

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Procurement Manager on a short term basis who can start immediately.This role is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end procurement of goods and services to support business operations. This role combines strategic sourcing with hands‑on purchasing, supplier relationship management, cost control, and process improvement to ensure value for money, continuity of supply, and commercial risk management.Charis offers solutions for organisations to get products and services to the people who need them, as efficiently as possible. Key Responsibilities· Research and understand the supplier marketplace and ensure there is a blend of suppliers to meet supply targets within seasonal deadlines· Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and service levels· Develop and manage sourcing strategies appropriate to Charis, balancing cost, quality, and reliability· Lead supplier selection, tendering, negotiation, contract award and onboarding processes· Negotiate pricing, terms, and service level agreements· Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and address issues proactively· Analyse procurement data to identify savings, risks, and efficiency improvements· Work with project teams on new propositions, taking the lead on sourcing new products and services as needed to ensure effective delivery· Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations· Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including commercial risk to Charis· Support sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives where applicable· Drive implementation of new processes and systems, ensuring stakeholder management, adoption, training, and continuous improvement Skills, Experience and Attributes· Demonstrable experience in a senior procurement role, leading strategic and transactional purchasing through all stages of the procurement process· Ideally educated to degree level, professionally qualified and a member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)· Excellent relationship management skills, external and internal, with the ability to engage, negotiate and influence· Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills· Highly numerate and IT literate with strong analytical skills· Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills· Pragmatic hands on mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally· Comfortable working with limited resources and changing priorities· Proven experience of building, from concept to delivery, product, service or strategy propositions in collaboration with multi-functional teams· Ability to write well-structured content in plain English and present effectively to a range of stakeholders· Excellent planning and organising skills· Experience of Lean methodologies· Experience in driving transformation, implementing new technologies, or leading change initiativesIf you’re motivated by working at the intersection of technology, energy, and social need, want to work on issues at the forefront of cost of living, energy and vulnerability and join an organisation combining commercial delivery with genuine social impact, then we’d love to hear from you.Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractBenefits:
