Mechanical Engineering Technician Company: Food Security Location: Beverley, Western Australia Salary: AUD 80,000 - 90,000 per annum (plus performance-based bonuses) Employment Type: Full-time About the Role Our client, Food Security, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their dynamic team. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the efficiency of mechanical systems within the crushing plant, ensuring smooth, safe, and reliable production operations. Key Responsibilities Ensure crushing plant machinery operates in accordance with standards to maximise efficiency and product quality Operate plant machinery and carry out preventative and corrective maintenance Perform testing, measurements, and calibrations on production equipment to ensure performance standards are met Assist mechanical engineers in preparing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and CAD models for equipment upgrades Collaborate on process improvement initiatives, including energy efficiency and equipment optimisation in edible oil production Support procurement by assisting in equipment selection, specification development, and supplier evaluation Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, and hydraulic systems Analyse maintenance data and prepare technical reports with recommendations for improvements Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime Support implementation of engineering-led process improvements Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment performance records Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards Provide technical support to production staff when required Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 3 years' experience in edible oil processing or similar manufacturing environment At least 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or equivalent role Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and quality workmanship Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team What We Offer Competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses Training and professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative team environment Career growth opportunities within the organisation Modern, well-equipped and sustainability-focused facilities This position is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and suitably qualified international applicants with full work rights in Australia.
