Job description

About UCL School of Management The UCL School of Management delivers world-leading business and management research and education, with particular strengths in innovation management, technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. Ranked 2nd in the UK for Business and Management in the REF 2021, the School is accredited by AACSB and AMBA and is a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools. The School has over 2,300 students from around the world studying undergraduate, postgraduate, executive, and PhD programmes. Since 2025, it has been expanding rapidly through new degree programmes, increased staff, and enhanced facilities at its Canary Wharf campus, supporting its mission to educate socially conscious entrepreneurial leaders equipped to address global challenges. About the Role The UCL School of Management is seeking a full-time Lecturer (Teaching) with expertise in technology, creativity, innovation, design, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to a new undergraduate programme in Technology and Innovation, designed to equip students with the creative and technological skills needed to solve complex real-world problems. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, interactive, and applied teaching, fostering creativity and collaborative problem-solving, and integrating technology with design, innovation, or entrepreneurship. Responsibilities include teaching and assessment, supervising student projects and dissertations, providing academic tutoring, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting wider School activities. Experience of experiential or project-based learning and engagement with industry is highly desirable. This is a teaching-focused position on the Education track rather than a research-track academic role. About You Applicants should hold a relevant PhD or doctorate and demonstrate expertise in technology, innovation, design, or a closely related field. They will have experience teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and be able to design and deliver engaging, inclusive, and experiential learning activities. The successful candidate will have a strong record of engaging diverse student cohorts and maintaining high teaching evaluations (minimum 4/5 or equivalent) through reflective practice. Excellent English communication, interpersonal, organisational, and workload management skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders. Additional Information Applications should include a one-page cover letter or personal statement and a CV only; published articles, working papers, and degree certificates should not be submitted. Salary: UCL Grade 8 (£54,931–£62,903 per annum, including London allowance), with additional market supplements. The post is eligible for Skilled Worker sponsorship and the Global Talent visa route, and applications from international candidates are welcomed. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion As London's Global University, UCL is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, recognising that diverse perspectives drive creativity and innovation. The University particularly welcomes applications from groups currently underrepresented in its workforce, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, LGBTQI+ people, and women in senior academic roles.
