Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess hospitalized patients to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care protocols.
- Order, interpret, and utilize diagnostic tests effectively.
- Perform various medical procedures required for inpatient management.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts, including specialists and ancillary staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor patient progress, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
- Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement, and compliance initiatives.
- Adhere to healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and best practices in patient safety.
- Teaching and resident supervision.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree; foreign medical graduates considered with appropriate licensing.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited U.S. program.
- Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine.
- Current, unrestricted New York State medical license.
- Active DEA registration or eligibility.
- Active or eligible Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.
- Inpatient internal medicine care experience (1-3 years preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and bedside manners.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and Microsoft Office.
- ACLS/BCLS certification required.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, inpatient setting.
- Must be available to work a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule (14 shifts per month).
- No J1 visa sponsorship; visa transfer to H1B is considered.
