- Position: Physiotherapist – Aged Care (Full-Time)
Location: Newcastle / Salamander Bay, NSW
Salary Range: $39–$42 per hour + super (award basis)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 38 billable hours/week
Benefits: $500 CPD allowance per year (for full-time)
Client Demographic: Aged-care residents (predominantly older adults in residential/community aged-care settings)
Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years preferred; new graduates are welcome if passionate about aged care
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist who’s excited about making a difference in the lives of older adults. In this role you’ll deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions in aged-care settings, working to maintain and improve mobility, strength, balance and functional independence of clients. Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan and implement physiotherapy programs for older adults in residential/community aged-care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, occupational therapy and podiatry
- Monitor client progress and adapt interventions accordingly
- Promote best-practice aged-care therapy and support accreditation requirements
- Participate in continuous professional development and training sessions
What We’re Looking For:- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) and current general AHPRA registration
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience—preferably in aged care or allied health settings
- New graduates who are enthusiastic about aged-care are encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal aptitude and a genuine interest in elderly wellbeing
- Willingness to work Monday to Friday, and uphold high standards of therapy service delivery
