Overview:Agro Foods Pty Ltd is in the business of processing Australian-grown Grains, Pulses, and Legumes. We are a B2B Business and have a customer base both domestically and globally.. Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager with a strong food processing background and knowledge of the Australian grain market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by managing existing customer relationships and acquiring new clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to leverage technology to enhance sales processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing Sales Strategies: Develop and execute business strategies to expand market presence in the Australian grain sector.
  • Identify & Create Expansion Opportunities: Conduct meetings with existing customers, understand their needs, and identify opportunities for business growth. Proactively approach and engage potential clients to expand the company’s customer base.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Negotiation and Closing Deals: Leading correspondence with customers and closing high-value deals.
  • Sales Forecasting: Analysing market trends and sales data to forecast sales performance and set realistic targets. Further, prepare and present business proposals, reports, and sales forecasts to management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize CRM and other digital tools to track sales performance, customer interactions, and business development activities.
  • Staying Updated: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with the production and sales team to plan production and procurement. Also, discuss and coordinate with the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction with timely and seamless service delivery.
  • Attend Events & Exhibitions: Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company’s offerings.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with other departments such as product development, project management, and finance to ensure alignment of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Providing feedback to the product development team based on market and customer insights.
  • Preparing regular reports and presentations for senior management on the performance of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Sales management or a similar role & within the manufacturing industry would be highly regarded.
  • Proven experience, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading a team.
  • Ability to identify market trends and create actionable business development strategies.
  • Strong industry connections and ability to build rapport with customers and partners.
  • Strong ability to close deals and manage contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in using CRM software, (HubSpot preferred) data analytics, and other digital tools to enhance sales efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proactive and results-driven approach to sales and business growth.
