- Prepare and cook traditional South Indian dishes with authenticity and precision
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food quality
- Manage food production processes, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development to showcase authentic South Indian cuisine
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock efficiently
- Train new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
- Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service
- should be an expert in cooking authentic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, curries, chutneys, and regional specialties
Qualifications
- Proven culinary experience specialising in South Indian cuisine, with a strong portfolio of successful dishes
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Demonstrable skills in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specific to South Indian dishes
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality establishments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Previous experience in restaurant service or serving is advantageous but not essential
