The successful candidate will work closely alongside the Restaurant Manager to ensure excellent customer service, high food quality standards, and smooth day-to-day operations. The role also includes supervising staff, supporting business performance, and managing restaurant operations in the Manager’s absence, including holiday cover.Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Restaurant Manager in the daily running of the restaurant
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and report directly on operational matters, staff performance, and customer feedback
- Supervise front-of-house and floor staff during shifts
- Ensure excellent customer service and professionally handle customer complaints
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation
- Support staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Coordinate effectively between kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Help manage stock control, supplier orders, and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and food hygiene regulations
- Handle cash management, tills, and end-of-day reporting procedures
- Support takeaway and delivery operations when required
- Take responsibility for restaurant operations during the Restaurant Manager’s holidays or absence
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
- Support sales growth and help achieve operational targets
- Maintain a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine and restaurant operations preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
