Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Mixed Practice | Northumberland Coast | Up to £80,000 A thriving independent veterinary practice in a popular market town in beautiful Northumberland is looking to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to its growing, friendly team. Established in 2017 with just two nurses and two receptionists, the practice has grown steadily into a six‑vet team supported by five nurses, a kennel assistant, five receptionists and a dedicated administrator.About the PracticeThis independent practice was built with a clear vision: to prioritise exceptional veterinary care and client relationships rather than sales‑driven services. The team prides itself on delivering friendly, personal care to loyal clients who truly value the service provided. Every team member is invested in the success of the practice, creating a collaborative environment with high job satisfaction and strong team spirit.CaseloadThe practice operates primarily as a small‑animal practice with some farm‑animal work (beef and sheep). Farm work is seasonal, with busier periods in spring and autumn and quieter times focused on small animals. The team also works closely with Marine Life Rescue and vets occasionally assist with the treatment of distressed seals, adding a unique and rewarding dimension to the role.Applications

Working Pattern & Work-Life Balance
- 20‑minute consultations
- Last consults at 6:00 pm
- 6‑week rolling rota
- 5 x four‑day weeks
- 1 x five‑day week
- 1 in 6 weekends
- Saturday consults 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
- A long weekend (Friday–Monday) every 6 weeks
- Part‑time applications welcomed

- Salary up to £80,000 (DOE)
