Position: Day based emergency and inpatient veterinary surgeon vacancy - Cheshire
About the Role A rewarding opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in Emergency and Critical Care who prefers to work daytime hours. This position centres on overseeing inpatient care and managing emergency cases presenting through the A&E service at this hospital in West Cheshire.ResponsibilitiesOversee inpatient care and manage emergency cases presenting through the A&E service. Provide rapid assessment and treatment of same‑day emergency presentations, ensuring continuity of care for hospitalised patients and delivering high‑quality, responsive care to emergencies throughout the day. Administer medicine and perform urgent surgical procedures as required.About the HospitalThe site is a purpose‑built 24/7 veterinary hospital created to deliver outstanding first‑opinion, referral, and out‑of‑hours services. The modern facility includes several consultation rooms, a dedicated end‑of‑life suite, operating theatres, separate dog and cat wards, isolation facilities, a fully equipped dental suite, advanced diagnostic areas, digital X‑ray and spacious staff areas to support a comfortable working environment.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated clinician who is confident managing complex medical cases and possesses some surgical capability. They will thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting, communicate with empathy and professionalism, particularly in high‑pressure situations. A certificate in Emergency and Critical Care would be advantageous, though it is not essential.Hours and ScheduleThis role is for 39 hours per week.
