Compliance Officer

About the CompanyWe are working with a growing payment services company based in Brisbane, providing innovative financial and payment solutions to businesses and customers. As the company continues to expand, they are seeking a Compliance Officer to support regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal governance activities.
Role OverviewThe Compliance Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks across the business, ensuring operations are conducted in line with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. This role is suitable for candidates with experience in compliance, risk, payments, financial services, or related industries.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and monitoring the company’s compliance framework, policies, and procedures
• Support compliance activities relating to payment services, financial regulations, and operational processes
• Monitor and assess regulatory developments and identify potential impacts on business operations
• Conduct compliance reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments
• Assist with AML/CTF monitoring, KYC procedures, and customer due diligence processes
• Support the preparation and maintenance of compliance reports and documentation
• Investigate and escalate compliance issues or incidents where required
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance awareness and implementation
• Assist with regulatory filings and communication with external stakeholders where necessary

Requirements

• Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Compliance, or related disciplines
• 1–3+ years of experience in compliance, risk, financial services, payments, banking, fintech, or related industries
• Understanding of regulatory compliance principles and risk management processes
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Preferred

• Exposure to payment services, fintech, banking, or financial institutions
• Knowledge of AML/CTF, KYC, risk management, or regulatory reporting requirements
• Familiarity with Australian financial compliance frameworks and regulatory environments
• Experience with compliance monitoring tools or systems is advantageous
