- Install new roofing systems using a variety of materials including tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing.
- Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to fit specific roof dimensions.
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inspect roofs for defects or potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, electricians, or plumbers when necessary for integrated building projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored safely after use.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance is essential.
- Knowledge of carpentry, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers as well as power tools including drills and saws.
- Experience working at heights on ladders or scaffolding safely is required.
- Prior exposure to construction sites involving varied trades will be considered an advantage.
