JJ Care Services are a leading boutique provider of essential homecare and disability support services as well as supported living, short-term accommodation and residential respite services within our large, busy centre based in Gymea Bay.Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a number of casual and permanent Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join our team. We have a nurse-led model of care with RN coverage 24/7. RN's are responsible for general nursing and care duties, staff management, admissions and discharges and are the duty manager of the facility at any given time. We have a general staff ratio of 1:3 at a minimum with higher ratios for higher care needs.Our model of care focuses on high and complex medical care needs and/or younger onset dementia. Our home has a mix of clients here for short and longer term stays.We are looking for nurses that can hit the ground running and are ready for an immediate start. Ideally, incoming nurses will be looking for 8-12 shifts per fortnight with a mix of morning, afternoons and nights across a four weekly roster.About the RoleOur home operates 24 hours and is an 22 bed high care facility. We have people living with younger onset dementia and other disabilities requiring complex care needs and behavioural and clinical interventions.The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

- Shift management including leadership and training of support staff, reporting, documentation and incident management;
- Assisting in the coordination of individuals’ lifestyles and of clinical services within resources, policies and guidelines.
- Escalation and deterioration management and response and documentation of same;
- Coordinating and reviewing person centred support services that are consistent with individual/care plans; monitor and coach staff with the implementation of plans’ goals, expected service standards and associated complexities of the people being supported.
- Full range of clinical duties including personal care, showering, toileting, ADL's, dressings, falls, observations and assessments, seizure management, medication management etc.;
- Liaising with doctors, pharmacy and family members to ensure documentation is up to date and available;
- Medication administration and management including reviews, charting and documentation
- Documentation duties including documenting and developing reports and assessments, compiling and reporting on charts, and progress reporting on care plan implementation as well as clinical reviews;
- Education and training of support workers including assessing and signing off competencies and performing spot assessments to ensure ongoing competency;
- Management of administrative processes including admissions, discharges, charting and reporting, care planning and management of our clinical management systems.
- Promoting a commitment to employment equity and diversity, workplace health and safety (WHS), risk management and ethical practices.
- Supporting the systematic approach to implementation of new/revised policy and process through staff briefings, training, monitoring, process and protocol development, records management and stakeholder communication.

To be successful, you must have:
- Current AHPRA Registration with no restrictions - Disability Nursing Notation is accepted
- At least 6-12 months experience as a registered nurse. New graduate applications are welcome with a background in disability support.
- Able to commit to a 4 weekly rotating roster
- Well-developed clinical and non-clinical support skills
- Outstanding written documentation skills
- Strong use of initiative whilst adhering to policies and procedures where required. We need a self starter that identifies what needs to be done, and gets it done.
- Current First Aid certificate or BLS
- Current NDIS Workers Check and WWCC
- Experience in working with and supporting adults with complex disabilities and support needs
- Strong Work Ethic and dedication to learning, both on the job and through specialised resources designed for this environment
- Outstanding English Skills
- Passion for working with disability and younger onset dementia and upskilling care staff to safely complete clinical tasks
- Valid Drivers License
