THE POST – REQ000547 - Senior Lecturer
You will provide academic leadership across subject areas within BA (Hons) Television, Radio & Podcast Production, taking a leading role in the design, development and delivery of industry-aligned modules that exemplify exciting, contemporary academic practice. You will develop innovative, practice-based teaching and assessment, supervising undergraduate honours projects and supporting students to produce high-quality, industry-facing creative work aligned to their professional aspirations and the expectations of industry. The role will also involve contribution to studio-based teaching within our suite of TV and Radio / Podcast studios, directing students and technical staff in live and broadcast environments.
You will work collaboratively to enhance interdisciplinary teaching across Arts & Media programmes building strong industry networks to maintain professional accreditation standards, ensuring that course content meets quality assurance requirements, and creating an outstanding student experience through engaging and contemporary approaches to learning, teaching and assessment. Your own industry profile and network will support the development of placements, live briefs and mentoring for students.
In addition, you will contribute to the broader leadership and management of the School, including curriculum development, enhancing student retention and progression and contributing to strategic planning. You will engage in research, scholarship and knowledge exchange activities, foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and support key initiatives that enhance student engagement, employability and overall programme quality.

The successful candidate should have the following:
- PhD/other doctoral level qualification (or working towards one with demonstrable progress) or equivalent extensive professional experience, depending on subject area.
- Degree/Higher degree and teaching qualification (or equivalent professional experience, depending on subject area).
- Membership of an appropriate internationally recognised professional body
- Significant professional experience in television / radio production, factual content or multiplatform media.
- Active engagement with industry practice or networks.
- Experience of delivering practice-based teaching in Tertiary education or equivalent professional training environments.
- Track record of teaching in the TV, Radio and Podcast / Multiplatform area, including a strong awareness of current pedagogic techniques,
- Experience of hybrid learning and teaching and use of authentic / real-world assessment approaches,
- Track record of engagement with organisations from private, public and/or voluntary sector,
- Programme leadership – development and management experience
