Key Responsibilities
- Complete Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) in accordance with NDIS and NDIS Commission requirements.
- Develop, review and implement person-centered, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans that are practical and outcomes-focused.
- Support the reduction and where appropriate, the elimination of restrictive practices by applying Positive Behaviour Support principles and promoting least restrictive alternatives.
- Provide training, coaching and ongoing guidance to participants, families, carers and support teams to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour support strategies.
- Collect, monitor and analyse behavioural data to evaluate interventions, inform decision-making, and measure outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including case notes, progress reports, assessments and behaviour support records.
- Practice ethically and professionally in accordance with relevant legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Commission requirements, and applicable professional codes of conduct.
Requirements
- Hold a tertiary qualification in allied health, psychology, counselling, behaviour support or a related discipline.
- Meet the eligibility requirements to practice as a Core Behaviour Support Practitioner or at a higher level under the NDIS framework.
- Demonstrate a person-centered, trauma-informed and evidence-based approach to service delivery.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with participants, families, carers and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life of people with disability and supporting their families and broader support networks.
- Hold a current Driver’s License, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or be willing to obtain and maintain these clearances.
- Must meet all Australian Subclass 482 visa criteria, including the required English language proficiency
