Fitter / Welder Active Engineering NZ | Auckland, New ZealandJoin a Leading Engineering & Fabrication TeamActive Engineering NZ is seeking an experienced Fitter / Welder to support fabrication, machinery maintenance, and engineering repair projects. This hands-on role involves workshop and field-based work, servicing industrial equipment and earthmoving machinery while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. What You'll Do? Welding & FabricationPerform MIG and Stick welding on a variety of materials.Carry out TIG welding tasks where required.Fabricate and repair engineering components and structures.Work with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron, and high-tensile steel.Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Mechanical Fitting & MaintenanceConduct industrial fitting, assembly, and installation work.Service and repair machinery, equipment, and mechanical components.Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently.Support repairs on earthmoving and heavy equipment. Health, Safety & QualityFollow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.Ensure work meets engineering quality standards.Work independently and contribute positively to the team. What We're Looking For?Minimum 5 years' experience in fitting and welding.Experience in general engineering, fabrication, or earthmoving equipment maintenance.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Desirable SkillsTIG welding experience.Heavy machinery maintenance experience.Industrial fabrication background.Trade qualification in Engineering, Fabrication, or Welding.
