About the Position:
Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer in Education (Early Childhood Education) to join a dynamic and collaborative academic community committed to excellence in teaching, research, and impact.

The position offers the chance to work at the intersection of teaching, research, and real-world educational practice. You will contribute to meaningful partnerships with schools, education systems, and professional organisations, helping to strengthen the connection between research and practice and improve outcomes across the education sector.

In this position, you will:
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Education programs using face-to-face, online, and blended delivery modes
  • Design and develop innovative curriculum and learning experiences that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Contributes to a collaborative research initiative focused on improving early childhood development outcomes through applied, co-designed research.


About You
You are an emerging or established academic with strengths in early childhood education and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and meaningful academic engagement that advances practice and improves outcomes.

You will demonstrate:
  • Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated capability, or clear potential, to deliver high-quality tertiary teaching, including involvement in topic coordination and curriculum design
  • Evidence of a strong research track record appropriate to career stage in early childhood education or a related area, including peer-reviewed publications and success in attracting external competitive grant funding


This position is open to international and domestic candidates. Relocation and Visa Support is available.

The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.
  • In addition, it is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working With Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
