Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Truck FleetJob SummarySDV Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our truck fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy diesel trucks and trailers to ensure maximum safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities* Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel trucks and trailers.* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.* Repair and replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical systems.* Conduct inspections to ensure fleet vehicles meet safety and compliance standards.* Maintain accurate service and repair records for all fleet vehicles.* Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations.* Work collaboratively with drivers and fleet managers to minimize vehicle downtime.* Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance and safety.Skills and Qualifications* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.* Diploma in Management* ⁠Previous experience working with heavy diesel trucks and fleet maintenance.* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.* Knowledge of Australian road safety and transport regulations.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Good communication and time management skills.* Valid driver’s licence (HR/HC licence preferred).Preferred Experience* Experience working on prime movers, trailers, and commercial fleet vehicles.* Familiarity with Cummins, Volvo, Isuzu , Fuso or similar heavy vehicle systems.* Welding and fabrication experience is an advantage.Benefits* Competitive salary package.* Stable full-time employment.* Opportunity for overtime and career growth.* Supportive and safety-focused work environment.* Modern workshop and fleet equipment.Pay: $79,600.00 – $95,000.00 per yearBenefits:
