Mining Engineer OceanaGold | New Zealand Shape the Future of Gold MiningOceanaGold is seeking a Mining Engineer to support the planning, design, and optimisation of underground and open-pit mining operations across key sites in New Zealand. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer who is passionate about safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement in mining performance. What You'll Do?Design and plan underground and/or open-pit mine layouts and development sequences.Prepare drill, blast, and production schedules.Support short- and long-term mine planning activities.Optimise ore recovery while minimising dilution and waste.Monitor production performance and reconcile against mine plans.Use mining software such as Deswik or Vulcan for modelling and scheduling.Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and operations teams.Contribute to continuous improvement in mine efficiency and cost control. What We're Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Experience in underground or open-pit mining (entry-level to 3+ years).Familiarity with mine planning and scheduling software (Deswik highly desirable).Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.Understanding of drilling, blasting, and production processes.Strong commitment to safety in high-risk environments.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
