About the Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Paint Technician to join our professional automotive repair team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, refinishing, colour-matching, and painting vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards, while ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities  Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, priming, and filling.  Mix and match paint colours using computerised colour-matching systems.  Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and specialist finishes.  Repair paint defects and perform polishing and finishing work.  Ensure all paintwork meets manufacturer and quality standards.  Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and tools.  Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations, including safe handling of paint products and materials.  Complete repair documentation and quality-control records. Essential Qualifications Applicants must possess one or more of the following:  IMI Level 4 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Paint).  NVQ Level 4 in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Paint Refinishing).  City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Vehicle Paint Refinishing.  Proven experience as a Vehicle Paint Technician, Spray Painter, or Automotive Refinisher. Preferred Higher Qualifications  Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
 Full UK Driving Licence.  Higher National Diploma (HND) in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.  Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc) in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.  Master's Degree (MSc/MEng) in Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.  Manufacturer-approved Paint Technician Accreditation. Skills and Competencies  Excellent paint preparation and refinishing skills.  Strong colour-matching and blending abilities.  Knowledge of modern paint systems, coatings, and repair techniques.  High attention to detail and quality standards.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
