Job Overview Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive experience in assessment and treatment of eating disorders, based in Manchester at Gaskell House. Part‑time (8 sessions per week) with a pro‑rated salary of £109,725 - £145,478.Responsibilities
  • Conduct joint assessments of referrals and admissions requiring consultant input.
  • Diagnose and formulate management plans, including CAMHS transfers when appropriate.
  • Manage complex and comorbid presentations, including patients with physical or learning disabilities.
  • Assess and manage risk of vulnerability, suicide, health and safety, and harm to others.
  • Interpret investigations, liaise with GPs and acute specialties.
  • Prescribe and titrate medications within the Shared Care Protocol or advise GPs where medication is not agreed.
  • Provide clinical supervision to designated team members or part of the MDT.
  • Participate in referral, liaison and MDT meetings, and discharge planning for selected patients.
  • Maintain a small caseload of monitoring and stability patients with longstanding eating disorders.
  • Give clinical advice and liaison to primary care, community services and acute specialties within allocated Direct Clinical Programmed Activities.

Qualifications
  • Medical degree.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • GMC registration.
  • Specialist register.
  • Approved Clinician status.
