The Team Leader (Retail) will provide leadership, setting an exceptional standard for the store and inspiring the team to achieve it. - Recruitment /induction and training/development of employees in line with the company’s training requirements
- Creating and managing the staff schedule
- Checking in deliveries, order matching and daily banking
- Prepare required paperwork concerning stock and sales. Prepare employee pay and timesheets
- Manage cash balances and minimise wastage
- Ensure 100% compliance following company’s and council’s guidelines
- Perform inventory management and stock control, including weekly stock-taking and reports
- Analyse the Weekly Sales & Inventory Report to improve the business
- Direct and undertake housekeeping activities such as maintaining store cleanliness and presentation
- Implement in-store marketing material in line with campaigns
- Ensure safety procedures are followed to prevent injury
- Provide a safe work environment for employees and customers
- Promote and encourage a high level of customer service among employees
- Handle unresolved and/or escalated customer complaints
- Deliver a high standard of service when dealing with products, sales, enquiries and catering to customer needs.
Duties
- Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food, maintaining high standards of quality.
- Train new team members on best practices in hospitality, food preparation, and service delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring satisfaction.
- Collaborate with management to implement strategies for improving service efficiency.
Skills
- The ideal candidate should have a graduate degree with significant experience or an An A-level (or equivalent qualification) with experience, preferably in the relevant sector. The post holder shall be able to network, recruit, train, develop, and assess talent and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Experience in food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within the team environment.
