Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist | Major Regional Referral Hospital | NSW
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major regional referral hospital in northern New South Wales and are keen to connect with FRANZCOG-qualified Obstetricians & Gynaecologists interested in full-time opportunities within a well-established Women’s Health service.
The department delivers comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care across a large regional catchment. Consultants are involved in maternity services, operative obstetrics and gynaecological surgery within a structured and supportive roster model.
This role will appeal to specialists seeking clinical variety, procedural scope and long-term stability within a substantial regional centre.
The Hospital & Women’s Health Services
This is a large regional referral hospital providing acute, surgical, ICU and specialist services to a catchment exceeding 150,000 people across northern NSW.
The Women’s Health service includes:
  • Established maternity unit with consistent annual birth numbers
  • Special Care Nursery support
  • 24/7 obstetric theatre access
  • Comprehensive gynaecological surgical services
  • Integration with Anaesthetics, Paediatrics and ICU
  • Structured referral pathways to tertiary centres in Newcastle

The hospital functions as a key teaching site within its Local Health District.

Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
  • Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
  • International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCOG as partially or substantially comparable
