Overview

We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and optimizing SQL queries, managing databases, and ensuring the integrity and availability of our data. You will work closely with data analysts, software developers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that support our business objectives.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support various applications.
Create and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Collaborate with software developers and data analysts to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity problems, and access control.
Develop and implement data backup, recovery, and security strategies to protect company data.
Monitor and analyze database performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
Participate in code reviews and ensure that database code follows best practices and standards.
Document database processes, configurations, and solutions for future reference.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure our database solutions are cutting-edge and efficient.
Assist in the migration of legacy systems to newer, more efficient database technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar database development role.

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.

Experience with data modeling, normalization, and database design principles.

Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration techniques.

Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization techniques.

Experience with database security best practices, including access controls and encryption.

Proficiency in using version control systems like Git.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
