- Work as an autonomous practitioner undertaking specialist assessment of palliative care patients within the acute setting.
- Develop management plans regarding appropriate symptom management or support that can be offered.
- Evaluate care and treatment outcomes.
- Provide clinical advice to all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, carers and other agencies.
- Take part in a CNS rolling rota to cover the service over weekends and bank holidays.
- Contribute to the education, research and service evaluation agenda within the palliative care service.

- Degree.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Independent prescribing.
- Teaching qualification.
Experience
- Experience in relevant speciality.
- Experience of managing own caseload in relevant speciality.

- Sound IT skills.
- Evidence of ability to work independently.
- Involvement in audit and research.
