Job description
We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead the design, automation, and optimisation of our client’s enterprise Azure platform; 482 Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate. You will be the technical authority for Azure Landing Zones, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure cloud connectivity. This role requires a specialist who can navigate complex hybrid-cloud environments while mentoring junior engineers in modern DevOps practices.

- Platform Architecture: Design and implement enterprise-grade Azure Landing Zones (ESLZ) ensuring scalability, security, and governance.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the automation of all cloud resources using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Governance & Security: Implement and manage Azure Policy, RBAC, and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) to meet Australian security standards (Essential Eight/IRAP).
- FinOps Leadership: Analyse cloud consumption and implement cost-saving strategies (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and automated rightsizing).
- Connectivity & Networking: Architect complex hub-and-spoke networking, including ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Virtual WAN.
- CI/CD & Automation: Build and optimise automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
✅ Technical Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years in Infrastructure, with at least 4 years focused on Azure Cloud Engineering.
- Expertise: Deep mastery of Azure Compute, Storage, and Networking services.
- Automation: Expert proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Containerisation: Practical experience managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) highly regarded.
