Head Coach - Contractor Position, Dry River Tennis Centre (Wairarapa) May 2026

Posted 12 May 2026 Head Coach - Contractor Position We are looking for a full-time coach to join our team based in Wairarapa, working toward our vision of a strong tennis region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a coaching team in a region where tennis is growing. The role includes working with junior players on our clay courts at Dry River Tennis Centre as well as with clubs and schools to develop tennis throughout the region. There are opportunities for professional development, allowing successful candidates to specialise in their preferred area of coaching over time. Personal integrity, a strong work ethic and a solution-focused attitude are critical attributes for successful candidates.
Overview:

• Contractor position
• Some weekend work is required
• Pay range: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
• 30-40 hours per week
• Wairarapa based - travel to events outside the region by mutual agreement
• Ideally, candidates will hold at least ITF level 1 coaching qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of full-time coaching experience
• A full driver's license is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery of high-quality group and individual lessons
• Communication with parents, clubs and schools as needed
• Development of students to senior interclub teams
• Identify appropriate students for performance pathways

This position requires the legal right to work in New Zealand and is open until a suitable candidate is found. We are an Accredited Employer under AEWV with Immigration NZ and we sometimes have eligible roles for this visa.
