- Prepare therapy materials and equipment for sessions
- Assist in implementing therapy programs as directed by an Occupational Therapist
- Support clients during therapy sessions (e.g., fine motor tasks, sensory activities, daily living skills)
- Assist with group programs and school/kindergarten-based sessions
- Observe and provide feedback to supervising therapists
Program Implementation
- Carry out delegated therapy tasks in line with client goals and therapy plans
- Support skill development in areas such as:
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Sensory processing
- Self-care and daily living activities (e.g., dressing, feeding)
- Social and play skills
Administrative & Clinic Support
- Maintain therapy resources, equipment, and treatment spaces
- Assist with basic documentation as directed
- Ensure a clean, safe, and engaging therapy environment
Client & Family Support
- Provide a warm, supportive experience for clients and families
- Reinforce therapy strategies during sessions and in everyday activities
- Communicate effectively with therapists regarding client progress
Skills & Experience Essential:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction and work within scope of practice
- Reliable, organised, and proactive
- Genuine interest in occupational therapy and working with clients
Desirable:
- Currently studying or completed a degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Experience working with children, people with disability, or in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of NDIS and person-centred practice
