Specialist Haemato-oncology Dietitian - Acute Adult Dietetics

The Role

As a Specialist Haemato-oncology Dietitian within NHSGGC, you will play a vital role in delivering expert nutritional care to patients with complex cancer and haematology conditions. Based across the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, you will work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting patients through critical and often life-changing treatments. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• You will be based within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre
• Full Time, Permanent
• Working Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist dietetic assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with complex haemato-oncology and oncology conditions
• Develop and implement individualised nutritional care plans based on clinical assessment and patient needs
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adapting interventions to achieve optimal outcomes
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to patient management and discharge planning
• Lead and support service development, audit and clinical effectiveness initiatives within the speciality
• Provide clinical supervision, training and mentorship to dietetic staff and students
• Deliver education and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals on nutritional care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics with current HCPC registration as a Dietitian
• Evidence of postgraduate learning at Master's level or equivalent experience in specialist practice
• Significant clinical experience within a relevant specialist area, ideally haemato-oncology or oncology
• Demonstrable experience in audit, service improvement and evidence-based practice
• Experience of clinical supervision, mentoring and delivering education or training programmes
• Strong knowledge of nutritional assessment, complex clinical care and multidisciplinary working
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage a complex caseload effectively
