ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic Oversight · Lead all aspects of daily hotel operations encompassing front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, security, and guest services, in alignment with Sonesta’s and Danville Hospitality’s high standards. · Serve as the primary steward of Sonesta brand values, ensuring consistent, on-brand guest experiences and physical environments as outlined in Sonesta branding and operational manuals. · Develop short- and long-term business plans for driving growth in reputation, occupancy, guest satisfaction, profitability, and regulatory compliance. · Regularly convene and conduct engaging meetings with heads of department, frontline teams, and executive stakeholders to align strategies, set performance expectations, and strengthen internal communications. Operational Excellence · Implement cost control measures and drive process improvements to achieve optimal efficiency, service quality, and guest satisfaction. · Ensure that the property maintains USALI compliance for financial operations, reporting, and sustainability practices, proactively preparing for regulatory audits and industry shifts. · Oversee and coordinate projects for property upgrades and preventive maintenance that preserve assets and enhance the guest stay. · Monitor and continuously improve guest service delivery and satisfaction scores, resolving complex or escalated guest concerns personally and ensuring repeat business. Financial Accountability · Develop annual operating and capital budgets, substantiate forecasts, oversee monthly P&L reviews, and implement managerial interventions as needed for variances. · Manage procurement processes and key vendor relationships to secure the best terms, consistent supply, and adherence to brand standards. · Analyze and leverage reporting tools and KPIs, such as RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and guest satisfaction indices to inform short- and long-term adjustments. People Leadership & Talent Development · Direct, mentor, and empower all property staff to foster a best-in-class hospitality culture, relentless guest-centricity, team morale, and professional growth. · Continuously build a diverse, inclusive, and resilient workforce, with a focus on vetting, onboarding, ongoing training, and regular performance evaluations. · Champion ethical recruitment, upholding international standards and Sonesta’s code of conduct through the full employee lifecycle, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor requirements. · Support and participate in referral programs and talent pipelines for internal and external talent acquisition, ensuring program awareness and engagement at all levels. Brand Compliance & Standards · Uphold Sonesta’s brand standards for amenities, design, cleanliness, service, and community engagement as outlined in current manuals and updates. · Conduct regular property walk-throughs, audits, and brand compliance checks, swiftly remediating any observed discrepancies. · Lead the hotel’s community relations and local partnerships to maximize positive impact, reputation, and network opportunities. Qualifications Preferred · Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. · At least 5 years of progressive hotel management experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior leadership or general management role at a select-service or limited-service hotel property. · Demonstrated success managing all hotel operations (guest services, F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, and admin functions) in line with well-recognized brand standards. · Advanced understanding of hospitality financial management, budgeting, and revenue optimization, including USALI and brand-specific requirements. · Strong working knowledge of property management systems (Opera PMS, Maestro, or similar), POS, booking engines, and reporting tools. · Exceptional leadership, team-building, and staff development skills. Track record of fostering a positive, resilient, and high-performing work culture. · Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal acumen; ability to interact with guests, team members, vendors, corporate leadership, and community stakeholders. · Conflict resolution and crisis management capabilities; calm under pressure. · Commitment to ethical recruitment, diversity and inclusion, and professional conduct. Preferred · Experience with or certification in Sonesta Hotels & Resorts brand standards or similar multinational hospitality brand guidelines. · Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) or equivalent professional qualification from AHLEI or similar international body. · Additional hospitality certifications (e.g., Guest Service Gold, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Staff Coaching). · Fluency or advanced proficiency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish or French. Competencies · Visionary, energetic, and hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational details. · Digitally literate and open to adopting new technologies that drive guest satisfaction and back-of-house efficiency. · Sound knowledge of U.S. hospitality labor law, health and safety codes, and environmental best practices.
