Job description

Senior Game Operations Manager (Pre-Launch & Live Operations Focus)About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Game Operations Manager who genuinely understands games and is deeply curious about how they work — from player motivation and progression systems to live operations and long-term retention. This role is ideal for someone who may not have shipped many games, but thinks like a game operator, actively studies successful games, and wants to take real ownership of bringing a game to market and operating it sustainably. You will join us at a critical pre-launch stage, working closely with the founders, product, and development teams to shape operational systems before launch and fully own live game operations after release. This is not a task-execution role. We are looking for someone who wants to learn deeply, think critically, and continuously improve the game through operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Launch (Current Focus)
  • Define and own the game operations strategy for launch
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure game systems support:
  • Player onboarding and early retention
  • Long-term progression and engagement
  • Contribute from an operations perspective to:
  • F2P systems, incentives, and monetization flows
  • Live operations readiness (events, activities, operational tooling)
  • Plan and prepare initial live events, activities, and operational content for launch

Post-Launch
  • Own and execute live game operations, including:
  • In-game events, seasonal content, and long-term activity planning
  • Player retention, conversion, monetization, and re-engagement strategies
  • Monitor and analyze key game metrics (e.g. retention, conversion rates, ARPU)
  • Use data and player behaviour to continuously iterate and improve the game
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and community teams to align:
  • Product features
  • Player-facing content
  • Growth initiatives

What We’re Really Looking ForWe care less about titles and more about how you think about games. You are likely a good fit if you:
  • Genuinely enjoy playing and analysing games (especially F2P or live service games)
  • Actively think about:
  • Why certain games retain players
  • How progression, rewards, and events influence behaviour
  • What makes players come back (or leave)
  • Have experience in game operations, live ops, game product, or adjacent roles
  • Are comfortable working in early-stage environments with ambiguity
  • Take strong ownership and are willing to learn fast where needed

Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of experience in:
  • Game operations, live ops, game product, or related online product operations
  • Strong understanding of at least some of the following:
  • F2P monetization and incentive systems
  • Player retention mechanics and engagement loops
  • Live events and activity design
  • KPI-driven decision making
  • Ability to think systematically about player behaviour and game systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • A clear passion for games and curiosity to continuously improve the product

Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Experience contributing to the launch or live operation of a game
  • Background in mid-core or long-running live service games
  • Experience studying or running live events in existing games
  • Familiarity with alternative game business models (e.g. Web3, hybrid F2P)
  • Experience with international or global player operations

What We Offer
  • A key role with real ownership over game operations and live performance
  • Opportunity to shape a game at a critical pre-launch stage
  • Competitive salary plus long-term incentives (bonuses, equity, or similar)
  • Clear growth path toward Game Operations Lead / Producer-level responsibility
  • Fast-moving, collaborative startup environment
  • UK visa sponsorship available (if applicable)
  • Benefits including paid leave and free parking

Join us if you genuinely love games, enjoy thinking deeply about how they work, and want to take responsibility for their long-term success.Job Type: Full-timePay: £35,000.00-£60,000.00 per yearBenefits:
  • Free parking
  • Store discount
  • UK visa sponsorship
