Job description
Join one of the world’s leading semiconductor companies at its flagship UK design centre in Cambridge, where some of the industry’s most advanced processors and connected technologies are being built.
I’m looking for a CPU Verification Engineer to become part of a globally respected engineering team developing next-generation CPUs, GPUs, ultra-low-power IoT devices, and cutting-edge wearable technologies used by millions worldwide.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of CPU innovation — collaborating with top-tier architects and verification experts to shape complex processor designs from concept through to silicon.
As a CPU Verification Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in validating CPU and SoC microarchitectures, owning key verification areas and ensuring features are fully verified and integration-ready for world-class products.
What you’ll be doing
What they’re looking for
What’s on offer
If you’re excited by complex CPU architecture, large-scale verification challenges, and the chance to work on technology powering the next generation of devices, this is a role worth exploring.
Onsite working policy: 5 days.
Rights to work: Visa sponsorship will be provided along with relocation if required.

As a CPU Verification Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in validating CPU and SoC microarchitectures, owning key verification areas and ensuring features are fully verified and integration-ready for world-class products.
What you’ll be doing
- Work closely with CPU and SoC architects to understand architectural intent and system-level requirements
- Develop detailed verification and coverage plans from architecture and microarchitecture specifications
- Define scalable, reusable verification methodologies across multiple environments
- Build sophisticated verification environments including stimulus generators, assertions, checkers, trackers, and coverage models
- Create and maintain testbenches for key functional domains
- Drive verification execution, including DV bring-up, regressions, feature validation, and complex debug activities
What they’re looking for
- Strong background in microprocessor verification and processor architecture
- Experience with Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and verification at block, subsystem, and chip level
- Deep understanding of processor functionality, architectures, and microarchitectures
- Expertise in developing portable testbenches, transactors, test plans, and assembly-level tests
- Must have CPU experience
What’s on offer
- Competitive base salary
- RSUs and annual bonus
- Opportunity to work on globally recognised products at the forefront of compute innovation
- Visa sponsorship available for candidates already based in the UK
