Location Brighton, UK Hours Full-time of 40 hours per week (50% research/50% clinical training). Salary Salary: Junior Doctor Pay Scale Dependent on clinical work being undertaken in the NHS.  If this is not the case, your salary will be assessed based on your skills, experience and relevant qualifications to allocate your pay to the appropriate pay grade of University of Sussex Pay scales. An exception may be made if you are a Junior Doctor in training undertaking this role as part of an approved Out of Programme Research application. Contract Type Fixed Term Contract About the role
Applications are invited for an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus (NIHR – Dementia Theme) at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), within the Department of Clinical Neuroscience and Centre for Dementia Studies. The post is offered by BSMS in association with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, where the successful applicant will hold an honorary clinical contract. This NIHR-funded Clinical Lectureship provides an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, multidisciplinary research environment and to develop an independent clinical academic career at the interface of dementia, ageing, and metabolic health. The post is open to speciality trainees in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus at ST5/ST6 level who have completed a PhD or MD and demonstrate strong potential to become future leaders in clinical academia.
About you
The appointee will undertake clinical sessions in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. You will hold an honorary clinical contract with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. There is no specific requirement for on-call or emergency duties within this post; however, participation may be agreed with the successful candidate and the Trust in line with training requirements. From an academic perspective, the post will be based within the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, with close links to the Centre for Dementia Studies and the CEDAR Lab.

Eligibility
