Activities Assistant - Eden Care Centre About the RoleEden Care Centre is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to support the delivery of recreational, social, and wellbeing programs for residents. Working closely with the Activities Coordinator and care team, you will help create a positive and engaging environment that promotes residents' quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Activity & Resident SupportAssist with daily activity programs, group events, and wellbeing initiatives.Support arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise activities, and special celebrations.Encourage resident participation and social engagement.Provide companionship and emotional support to residents. Outings & EventsAssist with resident outings, excursions, and community activities.Prepare activity materials and equipment.Support safe participation during events and outings.Documentation & CommunicationRecord resident participation and activity outcomes.Maintain activity schedules and related documentation.Report any changes in residents' wellbeing to nursing staff. Team CollaborationWork closely with the Activities Coordinator, Healthcare Assistants, and Registered Nurses.Support person-centred care plans and resident wellbeing goals.Contribute ideas for new and engaging activities. About YouCompassionate, caring, and passionate about supporting older people.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with elderly residents, including those living with dementia.Good organisational skills and a positive team-oriented attitude. DesirableExperience in aged care, community services, recreation, hospitality, or a similar environment.Qualification in Health & Wellbeing, Recreation, or Diversional Therapy.Current First Aid Certificate.Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
