Do you have experience ensuring engineering assets are structured, traceable, and aligned across multidisciplinary projects?Our client, a leading engineering company in the Offshore industry is delivering large-scale offshore energy and offshore wind projects. To support the growing demand for digital engineering and asset information management, they are looking for an Engineering Data Lead (Tagging & Asset Register) to join their team in the Netherlands.
The RoleAs Asset Information Lead, you will take ownership of the engineering data discipline within complex offshore wind EPC projects, with a primary focus on asset identification, tagging systems, and asset register integrity.You will act as the bridge between engineering disciplines, information management, and project stakeholders, ensuring that engineering data is structured, governed, and integrated into the project asset database architecture.In this role, you will lead the implementation of international reference designation systems such as RDS-PP, IEC 81346, and client-specific standards, ensuring that assets remain uniquely identified, consistently classified, and fully traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering data discipline across multidisciplinary offshore wind EPC projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project tagging philosophies, naming conventions, and classification structures.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering design, asset databases, and digital engineering systems.
  • Act as the technical authority for Reference Designation Systems (RDS), including RDS-PP, IEC 81346, KKS, and client-specific standards.
  • Define and maintain system, function, and product hierarchies within project data structures.
  • Manage the integration of tagging systems into engineering databases and asset register deliverables.
  • Ensure full traceability between engineering tags, documents, vendor information, and physical assets.
  • Monitor engineering data quality, consistency, and compliance across multiple disciplines and systems.
  • Identify and resolve duplicate tags, missing hierarchy levels, classification inconsistencies, and data quality issues.
  • Define, monitor, and report engineering data quality KPIs.
  • Coordinate tagging activities across Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding tagging, asset data, and asset register delivery.
  • Support vendors to ensure compliance with project tagging standards, data requirements, and system architecture.


What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Management, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within Offshore Wind, Offshore Energy, Energy Infrastructure, or EPC project environments.
  • Proven experience with engineering data management, asset information systems, tagging, or asset registers.
  • Strong understanding of offshore substation systems and multidisciplinary engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of Reference Designation Systems including RDS-PP (VGB) and IEC 81346.
  • Experience with engineering databases and digital engineering platforms such as AVEVA, Nexus, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of asset registers, structured engineering data, and lifecycle information management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured approach to solving complex data and information challenges.
  • Professional communication skills in English.
