Whist this is a new post in the Trust working across the Acute Oncology and Palliative Care Teams – we welcome applicants from a wide range of related specialities, such as General Medicine, Geriatrics, Oncology and Palliative Medicine. We recognise the need for applicants to be able to assess patients as they present across our hospitals in Emergency Departments and to be able to support the Acute Oncology and Palliative Care services. Applicants will be working with Consultants in Palliative Medicine and providing out of hours cover across East Kent.

The Cancer, Haematology and Haemophilia Care Group consists of a variety of teams including Acute Oncology, Supportive and Palliative Care, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Haematology, Research Teams, Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Teams to support both inpatient and outpatient pathways across the Trust.

These are new posts at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The post holders will be part of the Palliative Medicine Consultant Team but will act as Consultants responsible for the Acute Oncology and CUP Service for the Trust working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, including Acute Oncology Lead Practitioners and Acute Oncology Nursing Team.
