- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with specialised care needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or behavioural management
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Monitor and record health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support with light physical activities or exercises to promote mobility and wellbeing
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid measures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is desirable
- Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices
- Certification in first aid and basic life support is advantageous
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely between client locations
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and the elderly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively
- Organisation skills for medication management and documentation compliance
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by client needs
