Rehabilitation Assistant – ABI Rehabilitation (New Zealand)ABI Rehabilitation is a leading New Zealand provider of specialist neuro-rehabilitation services, supporting people recovering from traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological conditions. We are seeking compassionate and motivated Rehabilitation Assistants to help clients achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. About the RoleAs a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will support clients in residential, inpatient, and community settings, assisting them with rehabilitation programmes, daily living activities, and community participation. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to help clients achieve their recovery goals in a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Client Support & RehabilitationSupport clients with rehabilitation goals and recovery programmes.Encourage independence and participation in daily activities.Provide person-centred support for individuals recovering from neurological conditions.Promote a safe, positive, and supportive environment. Daily Living AssistanceAssist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.Support meal preparation, eating, and household tasks.Encourage clients to develop and maintain independent living skills. Community ParticipationAssist clients with rehabilitation exercises and physical activities.Support community outings, appointments, and social activities.Promote confidence, wellbeing, and community engagement. Teamwork & DocumentationWork collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.Follow individual rehabilitation plans and clinical guidance.Maintain accurate records and report changes in client wellbeing.Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards. Skills & RequirementsExperience in rehabilitation, healthcare, disability support, mental health, or community care is preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to care.Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and awake-night shifts.Full New Zealand driver's licence.NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
